Bologna (Baloney)
A friend of mine once told me, “no matter how thin you slice the bologna, there will always be two sides.” Tales of how we’ve been done wrong, he said, she said…so many stories and so precious little time!
What if…all that anyone could demonstrate towards another person was humility, deference or preference? Would there be less concern about who’s right and who’s wrong? After all, Romans 12:10 states; be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor. And in John 15:13 it says; No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.
We are loved by our God more than we can fathom. He has called us to rule and reign with Him in eternity. God’s plan for His body, according to John 17:21-23 is that they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me. 22. I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one: 23. I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.
What do you suppose is your enemy’s plan?
Wikipedia defines it this way—In politics and sociology, divide and rule (derived from Latin divide et impera) (also known as divide and conquer) is a combination of political, military and economic strategy of gaining and maintaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into chunks that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy. In reality, it often refers to a strategy where small power groups are prevented from linking up and becoming more powerful, since it is difficult to break up existing power structures.
What if we spent less time being offended and more time loving the unlovely? If we really do believe in God and His kingdom rule, we should start acting it now. After all Jesus said in Mark 9:35 “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of whom?” ALL.
Pick someone today for whom you can perform a random act of kindness. Pray for a sick person. Speak healing into a marriage. Believe for a miracle! And no matter what anyone says to or about you…do love.
Finish Well,
Tom Davis
