Thank You Father For

November 24, 2021

You have made me spiritually alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—I have been saved from God’s judgment)And in Him I have been made complete [achieving spiritual stature through Christ],For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set me free from the law of sin and of death.I will be far from [even the thought of] oppression, for I will not fear,

For Christ purchased my freedom and redeemed me from the curse of the Law and its condemnation by becoming a curse for me—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs [crucified] on a tree (cross)

He (Jesus) who was born of God [carefully] keeps and protects me, and the evil one does not touch me. I have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].

And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus is mine.

These signs will accompany me as I have believed: in Jesus’ name I will cast out demons, I will speak in new tongues;I will pick up serpents, and if I drink anything deadly, it will not hurt me; I will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.”

As I give, and it will be given to me. They will pour into my lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more].

For I have overcome and conquered the enemy because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of my testimony…

I am a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that I may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Amen!

Much love,

Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around LIKE a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 AMP These days there is so much teaching about how powerful the enemy is that people are giving in to the fear and throwing in towel! That can change today! Many years ago I spoke with a person who had hunted for lion in Africa. The professional hunter, who was the guide, explained to this person how lions often hunt. He said, a lion will locate a vulnerable looking victim and while remaining out of sight begin to walk in circles around and around the potential meal. While doing so the lion will roar as it wags its head back and forth to make his roar sound bigger and as though there are several lions roaring. As the prey hears the sound of the overwhelming roar coming from what seems like everywhere, it finally gives up and lays down consumed with paralyzing fear. The lion then walks in and you know the rest… Now read 1 Peter 5:8 again with this in mind. He is LIKE a roaring lion. It doesn’t say he IS! He attacks the victim after fear has replaced faith in the believer. 2 Timothy 1:7 says ; For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. Let God’s truth fill your heart today with power, love and a sound mind! Much love, Tom Davis

My Father in heaven, holy is Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there…even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand – when I awake, I am still with you. I pray that You would bless me and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and You would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me! That You will grant me a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of You, By having the eyes of my heart flooded with light, so that I can know and understand the hope to which You have called me, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (Your set-apart ones), For I know the plans You have for me, Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give me a future and a hope. I will not be afraid [there is nothing to fear], for You are with me; I will not look around in terror and be dismayed, for You are my God. You will strengthen and harden me to difficulties, yes, You will help me; yes, You will hold me up and retain me with Your [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. And this is the promise that You have promised me—eternal life. For You will contend with him who contends with me, and You will save my children. No good thing will You withhold from those who walk along Your paths. And You, my God shall supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” You will keep me in perfect peace, because my mind is stayed on You, because I trust in You.” I love you, For the LORD my God is with me wherever I go. Much Love, Tom

We have had so much fun over the years coming along side the things that God has been doing in our midst. Do you remember “The White Horse Song?” At least that’s what many have called it. In October 1995 at Bethesda Community Church in Fort Worth Texas, God showed up and rocked the worlds of several thousand people. Since so many people have asked for this over the years I am posting here that cut of We Will Ride, live in ’95! Check it out! https://soundcloud.com/user499455211/we-will-ride Have fun! “A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door. SON: ‘Daddy, may I ask you a question?’ DAD: ‘Yeah sure, what it is?’ replied the man. SON: ‘Daddy, how much do you make an hour?’ DAD: ‘That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?’ the man said angrily. SON: ‘I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?’ DAD: ‘If you must know, I make $50 an hour.’ SON: ‘Oh,’ the little boy replied, with his head down. SON: ‘May I please borrow $25?’ The father was furious, ‘If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don’t work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.’ The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn’t ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door. ‘Are you asleep, son?’ He asked. ‘No daddy, I’m awake,’ replied the boy. ‘I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier’ said the man. ‘It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the $25 you asked for.’ The little boy sat straight up, smiling. ‘Oh, thank you daddy!’ he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money and started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father. ‘Why do you want more money if you already have some?’ the father grumbled. ‘Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,’ the little boy replied. ‘Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.’ The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.” You see, the things that are most precious and most valuable, not only for a child, but also for us all, is LOVE. Give those you care about some of your time, give your friends, your family and those wonderful people that keep on entering your life, your love and affection, give them your time, for that is the most precious gift of all, and always remember that people are more important than things… when things are gone, we can buy new ones, while on the other hand, when people are gone, they are gone forever. Time. The most valuable asset we posses! Invest it well and it will pay huge dividends. Spend it poorly…well not so much. We’ve been given an allotted amount of time on this planet. Time to make a difference in as many lives as possible. Maybe this is a good time to re-prioritize and make certain our remaining years, months, days, hours, and minutes are invested wisely! I had a friend ask me one day , “why are you charismatics are so emotional. You are always looking for the next great experience.” Why can’t you just be content reading the Word and forget about all of this whoopla? Now while some, who find themselves lumped into the “charismatic” camp, actually find this aspersion quite offensive and vigorously defend their position in the body of Christ, I just tend to agree with my friend. Before you get huffy, read on. First of all, I am a follower of Jesus Christ, not a charismatic, bapticostal, or any other “ic”,”ite,”or “stal.” Secondly, His Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost! Two thirds of His kingdom is EMOTION, and I choose to pursue it…emotionally! I saw this great saying in a store the other day that said: “Life’s journey is not meant to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting holy cow, what a ride!” If we’re going to live life on this earth, then let’s LIVE LIFE, and live it out loud . Find your passion and do it, all the while doing as unto the Lord. Yes, by all means read and study God’s word to show yourself approved. But faith without works is dead. Do the stuff. If you can express your emotions at your favorite sporting event, how much more so should you do it for your Creator and God? Recently I met with a couple of gentlemen who had a deep desire to more passionately express themselves in their relationship with God but they were found wanting. They love the Lord but their personality types were such that while brilliant when it comes to analyzing, it was frustrating for them as they discovered that they were unable express their emotions in a more demonstrative way. Maybe we can all learn from each other. Maybe we are all different parts of the same body working together for one purpose. Imagine yourself standing next to Jesus as you look at that other Christian that doesn’t believe the way you do. How would you speak about them to Jesus? We are on the same team. WE WIN! Let’s live like it now and see what God might do for us later. Finish Well, Tom Davis

It would seem that our nation is in a season where fear is beginning to assault many people. We can no longer just live our life and expect others to do the fighting for us, while hoping for life to remain pleasant. BUT OUR GOD IS NOT AFRAID NOR HAS HE FORGOTTEN HIS PEOPLE. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says that the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ! We must press in and FIGHT if we expect to see God’s glory. Jeremiah 29:13 In closing; Once during a hospital visit, I had prayed to see healing and the dead raised but found that I was not really prepared for that battle. I was wearing jeans, boots, and a nice shirt instead of my full armor. We have heard a lot about change recently. Do you want to see real change??? Sound the battle cry. Get on your knees and fight. Stir up the gift within you. Fast, pray, and believe God. 1 Thessalonians 5:6, 21 So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. …But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil. I encourage you all to prepare for battle; for that is where we find ourselves like it or not. To win, and we must win, we have to run TO the fight fully prepared, fearless, faithful, with weapons drawn and the roar of victory coming from the depths of our being! Ephesians 6:10-18 10In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. 11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. 13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. 14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, 15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. 16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. 18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit… Finish well, Tom Davis

There is a true story of a little boy whose sister needed a blood transfusion. The doctor explained that she had the same disease the boy had recovered from two years earlier. Her only chance of recovery was a transfusion from someone who had previously conquered the disease. Since the two children had the same rare blood type, the boy was an ideal donor. “Would you give your blood to Mary?” the doctor asked. Johnny hesitated. His lower lip started to tremble. Then he smiled and said, “sure, for my sister.” Soon the two children were wheeled into the hospital room. Mary, pale and thin. Johnny, robust and healthy. Neither spoke, but when their eyes met, Johnny grinned. As the nurse inserted the needle into his arm, Johnny’s smile faded. He watched the blood flow through the tube. With the ordeal almost over, Johnny’s voice, slightly shaky, broke the silence. “Doctor, when do I die?” Only then did the doctor realize why Johnny hesitated, why his lip had trembled when he agreed to donate his blood. He thought giving blood to his sister would mean giving up his life. In that brief moment, he had made a great decision. In John 15:12-14 Jesus says, love each other as I have loved you. The greatest love a person can show is to lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I don’t know about you, but I want to be a friend of Jesus!
